How to Work From Home
Work from home
People are increasingly leveraging on the power of the internet to change a lot of things these days with one such area being working. Telecommuting is becoming a norm; even established firms are now allowing some of their employees to work from home. More precisely, one particular area of specialization that has attracted many people working from home is digital marketing. In fact, rarely will a digital marketer be bound by a 9-5 schedule perhaps because work can be done any time of the day or night. By the virtue of the name, this essentially suggests that different duties that are involved in digital marketing can be done from anywhere in the world including in the comfort of your home.
Digital marketing fields
Digital marketing is an entire field of study that encompasses many other areas of specializations including but not limited to search engine optimization, inbound marketing, outbound marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, PPC (pay per click) marketing, marketing automation, native marketing, online PR and email marketing. You can be an expert in any or several of these areas of specialization whether it entails business to business (B2B) or business to customer (B2C). You can do all these at the comfort of your home; all you need is your expertise, a computer and steady internet connection to work. Obviously, you will need discipline because unlike in a typical 9-5 job where your boss supervises you, when you work from home, you set your own schedules so you have to be careful not to end up not having any time to actually work.
What is digital marketing?
With digital marketing, what you essentially do is promote or market brands or products through electronic media in order to ultimately generate leads and convert the leads to paying customers. With such a job, your job entails leveraging on different channels and methods that enable a company (your clients or employer) to plan, schedule, deploy and examine different campaigns to know what’s working and what’s not- usually in real time. Some of the channels that you can leverage on include search engines, infographics, reviews, webinars, videos, ebooks, email, websites, blogs, social media, forums and other avenues that make it possible to connect with current and prospective customers.
